With the Sims 4 enchanted by nature expansion pack just days away, anticipation is buzzing among players. The latest Sims 4 patch, released on the first of the month, was designed to prep the game for the new content and delivered some genuinely useful improvements. But it also unleashed a wave of frustration among simmers because it broke several core systems.

Players were pleased to see some long-requested features finally added. Inventories now include sorting by new, price, crafted, quality, or rarity, making it much easier to find what you need. Sims 4 Patch triggers frustrating game-breaking bugs

While these changes are welcome, the Sims 4 patch also introduced serious problems. One of the most talked-about is the broken pregnancy test interaction. Multiple users on the EA forums, including TX Boxy, reported that after trying for baby, there is no option to take a pregnancy test. Players have been sharing workarounds like trying again or waiting longer, but none offer a reliable fix.

Other players confirm this is happening even without mods or custom content, meaning it is not a conflict with third-party files. This Sims 4 patch bug has over 670 upvotes on the EA forums, showing how widespread and annoying it is for family gameplay.

Another major issue comes from the Hobby and Business expansion pack, where the hobby whiteboard has disappeared from all households, both played and unplayed. Console players confirmed this is not mod related. When trying to place a whiteboard, players see errors like “script call failed,” and the item is automatically deleted from the save.

A user described reloading a residential small business lot only to see all Sims at home despite them being away for work or school before the reload. It is a disaster for rotational play, where you want to switch between households while expecting off-screen progress to continue smoothly.

Some players even reported this issue before the latest Sims 4 patch, suggesting it may have been lurking in the game for some time. Even more frustrating is that it seems to occur randomly, making it hard to plan around.

Players feeling like unpaid QA testers

Many in the Sims Community are voicing frustration that they feel like unpaid QA testers, reporting bugs after every patch. Every update seems to fix something while breaking something else, and the phrase “three steps forward, five steps back” has become a common complaint.
