What released today

Two creator collab kits are live:

  • Essential Glam by CrypticSim, a CAS makeup kit focused on higher quality presets and finishes.
  • Grange Mudroom by Peacemaker, a Build/Buy set for entryway storage, benches, hooks, and clutter.

Reaction is mixed. Many are happy to support CrypticSim and Peacemaker, while others question selling makeup as paid content instead of a base game refresh. If you like building cozy entries or want better default makeup options without CC, these are in their wheelhouse.

Headline patch features

EA shipped a base game update with three big additions:

  • New skin details: Rosacea, dark spots, age spots, eye bags, body freckles and stretch marks for teens and older, plus mouth and body wrinkles for adults.
  • Ailment toggle: You can now turn off contagious ailments from Enchanted by Nature in Game Options, Pack Settings. Existing sickness runs its course, but once cured your Sims will not catch it again. Naturopathy clients can still show up sick so the career remains playable.
  • Pack selection: Disable specific packs when starting a new save to focus your story and reduce resource load without uninstalling content.

Performance and graphics changes

  • PC players on Intel GPUs now default to DirectX 11.
  • Rendering and responsiveness optimizations for smoother visuals.
  • Fixes for crashes tied to specific graphics settings.
  • Reduced shadow flicker and more consistent lighting and water reflections.

Quality of life and fixes

Base game and platform

  • New user agreement prompt should appear before the main menu so the Gallery connects reliably.
  • Audio and other options should save correctly between sessions.
  • On console, clearing notifications no longer changes game speed while the wall is open.
  • EA is monitoring a PlayStation display size and agreement prompt quirk when starting a new session.

Anniversary content categorization

  • 25th anniversary sneakers now show in Cold Weather.
  • Wide leg jeans appear under masculine fashion preference.
  • Tucked tees are available in Athletic, Sleep, and Hot Weather.
  • The curly shag hair is listed as wavy.
  • Feminine fashion preference now sees the blazer and tee top correctly.

Pack specific

  • High School Years: When four or more teens from the active household attend school, all now receive daily tasks.
  • Gallery import: Sims with custom tattoos should no longer turn pitch black when added to a new game.
  • Enchanted by Nature: Ailment spread is a proper toggle; bad luck fires while cooking are less frequent.
  • Sleek Bathroom Kit: Dirty states show with the correct color and no longer swap to the wrong swatch on the Serenity Stone tub, throne, and sink.

How to use pack selection safely

Pack selection is best for new saves. Disabling content removes the associated hair, CAS, objects, venues, and gameplay. If you turn off packs in an existing save, you risk missing assets, broken lots, or odd behavior. For stability:

  1. Back up your saves.
  2. Use pack selection when creating a fresh story.
  3. Keep a simple test save to trial settings after patches.

Should you update right now

Superior Simmer reports many players having a rough time with this patch and suggests holding off if you are not in a hurry for skin details or the ailment toggle. If you do update:

  • Back up your saves first.
  • Remove or update mods and CC.
  • Avoid flipping pack selection on existing saves.
  • Verify settings persist and the Gallery connects before diving in.

What’s next

Superior Simmer plans a hands on review of Essential Glam later today and a part two on patch stability. If you have issues, report them through official forums with your specs and a clean save so EA can reproduce and fix faster.
