Console patch brings parity and minor bug fixes

Console players finally caught up to PC users with a patch rolled out on June 17. This update synchronized the May 27 PC patch across Xbox and PlayStation platforms, resolving key bugs like distorted Sim models after aging up, missing New Year’s resolution options, and scout badge UI glitches.

Maxis also confirmed another patch will land this July to address the widely reported indoor rain issue, which has affected many seasonal gameplay features. You can check out the full patch notes in the official EA site.

Fairies, ailments, and off-grid skills add magical flair and gameplay depth

Fairies are the core of this expansion, allowing Sims to either start as magical beings or undertake a mystical journey to earn their wings. Once transformed, fairies can alter emotions, heal ailments, and affect others’ luck. Their magic costs emotional energy, introducing a risk-reward mechanic. Running out of energy may even lead to emotional starvation, a brand new death type.

Players can customize fairy forms with glowing tattoos, colorful wings, horns, and unique presets. The CAS options will offer players the chance to get creative with fairycore fashion and wild color palettes. Similar to vampires, fairies can switch between a normal and a magical form.

For players into crafting and healing gameplay, the new Apothecary Skill adds 22 recipes for elixirs, cures, and emotion-based items. Combined with ailments and an emotional crafting mechanic, this skill allows Sims to function like magical healers. The new Naturopath career and Elixir Enthusiast aspiration expand gameplay even more, especially when used with packs like “Businesses and Hobbies.”

Living off the grid with new traits and skills

Enchanted by Nature enhances off-grid storytelling with the new Natural Living Skill. Sims can now meet needs without modern plumbing or beds by foraging, using outdoor toilets, or sleeping on the ground. This system seems ideal for “Rags to Riches” style challenges or nature-based households.

Three new personality traits which are Plant Lover, Mystical, and Disruptive influence how Sims interact with nature, magic, and others. Plant Lovers feel happier around greenery, while Mystical Sims build skills faster and support others. Disruptive Sims thrive on chaos and develop mischief, charisma, and logic quicker.

New world, lore, and luck systems

The expansion introduces Innisgreen, a Celtic-inspired world with three neighborhoods: Coast of Adhmor, Sprucederry Grove, and Everdew. Each area has a distinct vibe, from nature hubs to fairy-centric hotspots. A large mushroom hub and interactive locations provide more interactivity than past worlds.

Two new NPCs also appear: Mother Nature, who guides Sims toward fairyhood, and Spruce Almighty, a gnome-like being that can alter Sims’ luck or help around the lot. Luck plays a deeper role now, affecting social interactions, crafting results, and even which gnomes appear during events.

Fairy Dust is a new resource used to enchant objects, animate gnomes, or enhance plants. It’s available to all Sims, not just fairies, and adds a fresh magical crafting element to gameplay.
