Real Talk Interactions is a small social mod by rimshard on CurseForge that adds new conversation topics such as Talk About Your Biggest Fears and Talk About Childhood Trauma. It is a genuine original, not a reupload. The last update is from 22 August 2025 for patch 1.117, and we found no confirmation that it works on patch 1.128, so treat it as untested. If you want deeper conversations from a mod that is kept up to date, annasiims’ Girls Talk and tyjokr’s conversation mods are confirmed for 1.128. Details on all of them below.
Who made it, and is it a reupload?
The download on CurseForge is called “Interazioni Real Talk PT.1”, which is Italian, so we checked whether the page is a copy of someone else’s work. It is not. The project is owned by rimshard, the description calls it the creator’s first mod, and the Spanish translation by Monisims credits rimshard as the author. Rimshard’s other uploads also carry Italian names, such as Nuvole & Confetti. Rimshard has since released a second part, Real Talk Interactions PT.2, on CurseForge.
What it does
PT.1 adds nine base game social interactions with custom speech balloons. The Sim who listens gets its own buff as a reaction. Each interaction needs a certain friendship level, from 20 to 50 depending on the topic.
- Deep Thoughts: Talk About Your Moral Values, Talk About Your Biggest Fears, Talk About What Friendship Means to You, Talk About Childhood Trauma, Do You Believe in Life After Death? and Do You Believe in Aliens?
- Small Talk: Talk About Your Day.
- Interests: Do You Play Videogames? Both Sims need level 1 in Video Gaming.
- Romantic: I Love You! It needs a romance score of 30 and shows a heart effect and a notification.
PT.2 from 29 August 2025 adds more topics in the same style: Talk About Your Anxiety, Share Unpopular Opinion, Share a Dark Thought, Reveal a Secret Ambition, Confess You Don’t Trust Anyone, What is your favorite scent?, What’s the Last Movie You Watched? and I Trust You. It comes in a Base Game version with eight interactions and a Full version with ten. The two extra ones are Ask for Legal Advice, which needs Discover University and a Sim in the Law career, and Ask for Home Advice, which needs Dream Home Decorator and an Interior Designer.
An earlier version of this guide listed interactions that are not in the mod. The lists above come from the creator’s own CurseForge pages.
Does it work with patch 1.128?
Not confirmed. Both parts were last updated in August 2025 for patch 1.117, and there have been several game patches since. Real Talk Interactions is not on any of the EA Forums lists for patch 1.128, neither as broken, updated nor cleared, and the creator’s pages say nothing about newer patches. Rimshard is still active on CurseForge, so an update may come. Until then, test it in a copy of your save. You can follow the status on our Sims 4 mod status page.
Alternatives that work today
These mods also give Sims more meaningful conversations. “Works” means the creator or the EA Forums 1.128 lists confirm it.
- Girls Talk by annasiims: Girls Talk on Patreon. Status: works (on the EA Forums 1.128 updated list, 31 August 2026). A friendship mod built around conversation: friends vent, gossip, support each other and stir up drama, depending on mood and the friend type you give each Sim.
- Guys Talk by annasiims: Guys Talk on Patreon. Status: works (same EA Forums list). Released in March 2026. Read the creator’s post for what it covers and what it needs.
- TS3 Social Context by tyjokr: TS3 Social Context on CurseForge. Status: works (file for 1.128.90 from 23 September 2026). Brings back the conversation stages from The Sims 3: friendly and romantic interactions unlock as the conversation gets better.
- Better Conversations by tyjokr: Better Conversations on CurseForge. Status: works (CurseForge lists 1.128.90, and the EA Forums list clears tyjokr’s mods). Five modules: Sims stand closer, stay seated, get bored of repeated socials sooner, idle chat in a bad conversation lowers friendship, and Sims in a good conversation stop walking off.
- Social Variety by tyjokr: Social Variety on CurseForge. Status: works (same as above). Lets Sims use over 300 social interactions on their own and adds cooldowns to repetitive ones. See our Social Variety guide.
- Sociable Sims by plumlace: Sociable Sims on CurseForge. Status: not confirmed (last file 7 August 2025 for patch 1.116). The closest match to Real Talk: 26 new interactions in categories such as Meaningful Conversation and Get to Know, plus more phone calls and texts.
How to install
- Download the mod from the official page linked above. On CurseForge you can also use the CurseForge app.
- Install any required mods first (see Requirements).
- Unzip the download and move the files to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. Script files (.ts4script) must not sit more than one subfolder deep.
- Start the game, open Game Options > Other, tick “Enable Custom Content and Mods” and “Script Mods Allowed”, then restart the game.
- Click on another Sim and look for the new interactions in the menu. Remember that most of them need a certain friendship level.
Download only from the creator’s official page. Reuploads on other sites are a common source of malware.
Requirements
- Real Talk Interactions PT.1: base game only.
- Real Talk Interactions PT.2: base game. The Full version uses Discover University and Dream Home Decorator for two interactions, and the creator says it is safe without those packs. Install only one of the two versions.
- Girls Talk: the XML Injector and Lumpinou’s Mood Pack.
- tyjokr’s mods: the Lot 51 Core Library, updated on 19 October 2026.
Known conflicts
The creator lists no conflicts for Real Talk Interactions. TS3 Social Context overrides the game’s romance conversation context, and tyjokr’s shared file for the friendly context clashes with any other mod that changes it. Is Real Talk Interactions a reupload?
No. Rimshard owns the CurseForge project, and the Spanish translation by Monisims credits rimshard as the creator. The Italian file name matches the creator’s other uploads.
Does Real Talk Interactions work on patch 1.128?
It is not confirmed. The last update is for patch 1.117 in August 2025. Test it in a copy of your save, or use one of the confirmed alternatives.
Do I need expansion packs?
No. PT.1 is base game only, and PT.2 has a Base Game version. Only two optional PT.2 interactions use packs.
Why can’t I see the new interactions?
Most of them need a friendship level between 20 and 50, and the videogame topic needs Video Gaming skill on both Sims. Also check that mods are enabled in Game Options.
