You can only remove the censor blur in The Sims 4 with a mod. There is no setting or cheat for it in the base game. The best-known option, Censor Remover on Nexus Mods, has been deleted by its author, so today you choose between small censor mods on Mod The Sims (none confirmed for patch 1.128) and the adult mod WickedWhims, which also removes the censor and supports 1.128. This guide shows your options, how to install them safely, and what to do after a patch.
Why Sims get censored
The Sims 4 puts a pixelated mosaic over Sims in private moments: showering, using the toilet, changing clothes or being naked for any other reason. It is part of the game and cannot be turned off in Game Options. The game uses one shared censor for every one of these situations, so a mod that removes it removes it everywhere.
Is there a cheat or setting to turn the censor off?
No. There is no option in Game Options and no cheat code that removes the mosaic. Pages that promise a “no blur cheat” are wrong. A mod is the only way.

The old favourites have changed. Censor Remover by BeatMarshal is marked as removed by its author on Nexus Mods. No Mosaic / Censor Mod by moxiemason, downloaded more than four million times, showed a permission notice to visitors who were not signed in when we checked, so we could not confirm it is still available. How to install a censor mod
- Download the file from the creator’s page linked above.
- Extract the archive with a tool such as 7-Zip. Some files are .7z or .rar.
- Move the .package file into
Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods. On Mac it isDocuments/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods. If there is no Mods folder, start the game once or create it yourself. - Remove any older censor mod. Keep only one censor mod in your Mods folder, because they all change the same game file.
- Start the game, open Game Options, then Other, and turn on Enable Custom Content and Mods. Restart the game.
- Send a Sim to the shower to check that the mosaic has changed.
The small censor mods are package files, so they do not need script mods turned on. WickedWhims is a script mod with its own install steps on its official site.

What to do after a game update
The Sims 4 gets a new patch on 27 October 2026. Small override files like the censor mods are less likely to break than script mods, but none of their creators has tested the newest patches, so we cannot promise they still work. If the blur comes back or the game shows errors after a patch:

Is removing the censor allowed?
Mods are allowed in The Sims 4 on PC and Mac, and a censor mod only changes how your own game looks. It is not supported by EA, so EA will not help if a mod causes problems. Be careful when you share screenshots or videos: platforms such as YouTube and the official Gallery have their own rules on nudity.

Close the game, delete the censor mod’s .package file from your Mods folder and start the game again. Nothing else changes.
